Clean Hydration You Can Count On (Platypus Quickdraw Microfilter System Review)

If you’re off the grid, you need a few essential items for survival!
This is Jason with WiseBuysGuys. As I write this review, I’m out in the wilderness and going to talk about water filters!
As always, we are real people with real products that we use and depend on. And when you find yourself hiking, backpacking, or camping and not near your car, where you can carry a lot of water, then a water filter is essential.
So, I’m currently about nine miles out and just filtered six liters of water using my Platypus Quickdraw Microfilter System.
Over the years, I’ve used several different water filters, including the old-style pump ones that worked fine, but the technology has really come a long way. In fact, you’ll find that modern water filters can be very small yet extremely effective.
I’ve been using the Platypus Quickdraw for two hiking seasons now, and I’ve found it to be incredibly dependable and light; and I really like how it works and flows.
The nozzle on the top makes the product convenient, as you can drink directly from the filter. The bag that the filter is attached to features a nice little hook, which allows for you to clip it onto your bag easily.
The one thing I will say is that the entire time I’ve used the Platypus, I’ve never seen water leak from the seal. Even if the bag is turned upside down and you’re pouring it into the bladder or another water bottle, there’s no leakage. When it comes to a water filter, this is essential because you don’t want dirty water contaminating your bladder or bottle.
Now, I use the Quickdraw in combination with a Platypus bladder and Smart Water Bottles. What I love is that they’ve designed the filter in such a way that it fits right onto a Smart Water bottle (all of the brand’s items are compatible with these bottles). So, let’s say my bladder becomes punctured for whatever reason. In this case, I can just use the filter with a bottle and get the same functionality.
The other thing that’s simple is the backflush when you want to clean the filter. All you have to do is attach a Smart Water Bottle to each end of the filter and then squeeze to backflow. This allows you to reverse the flow to have the water come out of the backend as you’re doing a filter clean or flush.
This product filters about one liter per minute, and while some systems filter water faster, you can’t beat this one for the price. At around $40 on Amazon, I give the Platypus Quickdraw 5 stars. I’ve found it to be dependable, lightweight, multi-use, and overall better than other systems I’ve tried.
So, there you have it; I’m completely sold on the Platypus Quickdraw. What do you think? Comment and let us know!
