The Coolest Thing In Town(CANYON COOLERS Nomad 30qt Soft Cooler)

Updated: Oct 6, 2022

Do you need a 30 qt camping cooler that keeps your food cold and is easy to pack? Check out my latest find!

Hey, this is Dean from WiseBuysGuys, and I don't know why, but I've always had a special place in my heart for this cooler, so today, we'll review my Canyon Nomad 30 qt Cooler.

It has many features and fits a lot of the things I need that other coolers just don’t have. With the Canyon Nomad, you have straps and other clips that you can use to hook stuff to or hang the cooler itself. It also has two handheld carry straps and the shoulder strap, which is broad and cushioned, makes carrying it extremely easy and comfortable.

Overall, I feel that Canyon did a great job with the product; the features work really well and are well thought out, a good example being the elastic loops on the side. Let me tell you, these elastic straps should be on everything we use because they are fantastic! I have a wife and kids, so I'm always carrying stuff for people, and these things would really come in handy! In the bag, we use them to store paper plates and other things that are needed with the cooler.

I will say that the Canyon Nomad 30 qt Cooler keeps things cold and works well. BUT, there's one thing about it, and that's getting items in and out of it is sort of a pain. Don't get me wrong, it looks great if you're sitting in a chair with the cooler empty and have two free hands. However, the process becomes very awkward when you have stuff in it and only one free hand to search for what you want. What I've found is that when you go to jam your hand in, the bag closes up.

So, when dealing with food like eggs, I've ripped the container several times, trying to pull it out. And it's not like, you're just going camping for two days, and you need to pull the eggs out twice. That doesn't happen for me because I have to pull them out 45 times to find what I need. The cooler exaggerates the problem because you can't see inside of it or open it far enough to shuffle stuff around. If the company could find a way to do a three-quarter zipper or one on each side of the bag and maybe put a flap over it, that would be better. However, I'm sure that this design allows it to seal and keep stuff cooler for several days.

And in terms of how long ice stays cold, I know there's plenty of information about whether it's two or four days, but this really comes down to where you are. We're in Arizona, so when we go camping any time in the summer, no matter how far north you go, the sun bakes for 14 hours, so the ice doesn't last as long as it does in other places like Oregon, where it's nice in the mornings and evenings.

In the end, the Canyon Nomad 30 qt Cooler is really good and serves my needs well. The reason I got it is because of the shape, which I find makes packing for a trip simple because it fits in so well. I find that the square coolers of the same size are harder to fit in the vehicle and don’t work as well for my needs. What breaks my heart is that this thing serves my purpose well with all the other features. However, b

being that it's so hard to get stuff in and out, it makes cooking stressful, so I have to give it 4 stars. Other than that, everything else is awesome!
